Opera Mini

A web browser for your mobile phone, lets you view only wap sites but also html ones. The browser is amazingly fast. Although some similar products exist, Opera Mini is doubtlessly the best one around. Although it can not display the fancy stuff like macromedia or javascript based pages but what I like is that it can download and save files on the phone memory.

The interface is very nice, supports themes, main page shows recently visited pages, book marks along with a search engine and address bar. The bookmarked pages also shows the site fav icons. The view can be changed using the star(*) key if a greater page display area is required.

All the pages are compressed before being sent to the phone that not only decreases the time for loading pages but can also reduce internet charges in some cases. Although you can’t load gmail on it, this has so far been the most useful application on my cell phone.
